BIOGRAPHY:  Originally from Lancaster, Missouri, Jerry "Jive" Kerby now lives in New York and is a Captain for a major US airline.  Jive started flying at the age of 15.  He soloed on his 16th birthday (after having flunked his driving license test) and attained his private pilots license on his 17th birthday.  While attending college at Northeast Louisiana University, Jive worked as a flight instructor and as both a
charter and freight pilot.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation and obtained his ATP license just before entering the the United States Air Force.

Jive entered the USAF in 1983 and spent 23 years as an F-15 A-D instructor pilot, weapons officer, and flight examiner accumulating over 3400 hours in Eagles.  While in the USAF, he earned his Master's degree in Aeronautical Sciences from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and attended Squadron Officers School, Air Command and Staff College, and Air War College in 2003.  His last two years in the USAF were spent commanding the 82 ATRS at Tyndall AFB, FL flying the QF-4E Phantom.  He was the first F-4 pilot to fly in the USAF Heritage Flight and flew 11 shows in the 2005 season before retiring from the USAF at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in February 2006.

Air shows have always been Jive's passion, and after retiring from the USAF, he has pursued warbird air show flying, attaining type ratings in the T-33 and L-39.  He is also one of the very few pilots to have a type rating in the F-4 Phantom.
